Crystal was founded in 1998 and is now the second largest MFI in Georgia. The organization has now taken on a leading role in financing smallholders and small businesses. The loan portfolio is around EUR 85 million, serving 70,000 customers. Crystal employs over 800 people and operates 57 stores nationwide.
Crystal strives not only to operate successfully, but also to achieve ecological and social effects. This is shown, for example, by supporting local charity projects, for which the organization provides an annual budget of 2% of its total income. In 2012, Crystal received the Mix-Market Platinum Award for its social impact reporting.
