A planet powered by 100% renewables is not a utopia; it is my everyday motivation!

Alexander Kinnel rejoined FS Impact Finance Team in June 2026. Throughout his career, Alex has had a strong focus on renewable energies giving him a complete view of how capital moves through the renewables value chain. Previously to rejoining FS Impact, he has been working for an M&A boutique and asset management company focussed on clean energy investments for European institutional investor clients. Later he was responsible for the German investment activities for a pan-European IPP. 

During his time in Vietnam, he experienced the challenges of working in the renewables sector in emerging markets at first hand. Alex’ professional experience covers areas such as project development, project evaluation, financial modelling, due diligence, analysis of yield assessments and offtake agreements. Alex has been previously working for FS Impact Finance between 2020 and 2023 were he supported SCAF.

Alex holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering and business administration (“Wirtschaftsingenieur”) from University of Darmstadt. Outside of work, Alex enjoys hiking, visiting the bouldering gym with his daughter and enjoying Vietnamese coffee.
