Of Tradition and Precision – Uhren Fahlbusch under the Leadership of Waldemar Albrecht

Nestled in the heart of Frankfurt’s city center, at Töngesgasse 48, lies a small yet distinguished watchmaking atelier with an impressive legacy: Uhren Fahlbusch. Founded in 1925, the company has long stood for exceptional craftsmanship, reliable service, and deep-rooted expertise. A traditional business that has earned the trust of generations of clients.

In 2012, the business was passed on to a new steward: Waldemar Albrecht, a trained watchmaker with both technical expertise and entrepreneurial vision. Since taking over, he has skillfully maintained the company’s commitment to tradition while infusing it with a fresh, modern perspective. Albrecht’s deep professional knowledge and hands-on approach ensure that the high standards of quality and precision remain at the core of the business.

Uhren Fahlbusch offers a broad range of services, including the repair and refurbishment of contemporary wristwatches as well as the restoration of antique timepieces. Whether quartz or mechanical, every piece receives meticulous attention. Particularly noteworthy is the company’s ability to fabricate custom replacement parts when originals are no longer available – a rare capability that draws watch enthusiasts from across the region.

In addition to repair services, Uhren Fahlbusch supplies spare parts and specialized tools to watchmakers and jewelers, making it not only a workshop but also a vital resource for the regional watchmaking community.

The atelier is open to the public on Wednesdays and Thursdays, while the remaining weekdays are dedicated exclusively to focused workshop activity – ensuring the level of precision for which the business is known.

Through his leadership, Waldemar Albrecht has revitalized this storied enterprise, demonstrating that traditional craftsmanship remains highly relevant in an increasingly digital world. Uhren Fahlbusch thus continues to serve not only as a place for functioning timepieces but also as a symbol of quality, patience, and artisanal excellence.

For investments related to the business succession of the watchmaking company, Waldemar Albrecht received a loan of EUR 40,000 in 2012 through the Frankfurter Gründerfonds.

Andreas Küppers implemented and runs the Frankfurt Start-up Fund (Frankfurter Gründerfonds) at FS Impact Finance since 2010. He has strong training skills and developed entrepreneurship lectures for the course of studies “Betriebswirt/-in” of the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.
